Because of predictions of severe storms, we decided to spend Monday night near the hospital. We stayed at the Embassy Suites Perimeter. It took three trips to the front desk before we got a room key that worked! Had a light dinner nearby at Joey D's Oak Room - yummy blue crab claws for me.
The morning's drama was a fire alarm in the hotel with continually repeated warnings to leave the building and not to use the elevators. We didn't see any evidence of a problem, so chose to ignore, but observe. After about 10-minutes of constant noise, the all-clear was sounded.
Spent two hours at Atlanta Cancer Care infusion center at Northside Hospital. Results of echocardiogram and blood tests were all fine, and I had Herceptin infusion. Received schedule of next appointment on day we return, November 24.

Got to the airport, checked in and Ron went to return the rental car which took almost an hour. We went through Security and were ensconced in the Delta Sky Lounge (used by Air France for business class passengers) by 5:30 PM. The lounge was disappointing in comparison to most of the international lounges, especially the Asian airlines. The selection of complimentary beer/wine and food was MINIMAL.
The plane was a 747, and the seats weren't the new "pods", but were comfortable enough. The food was not what we expected on Air France. Smoked breast of duck with a peculiar (and totally tasteless) scallop flan followed by mushroom risotto for Ron and the Joel Robuchon suggestion for me (chicken with sherry vinegar sauce and semolina). We didn't eat much of it, but here is a photo of the pathetic cheese offering.
We are still recuperating from the change of planes at Charles DeGaulle in Paris. No more riding conveyor belts up and down as in the old satellites, but think it is even worse now. There are no people movers, and we must have walked well over a mile and went up and down eight or ten elevators - pulling our heavy carry-ons. The security people pulled Ron aside with his Duty-Free Scotch purchase, and opened the sealed packages and put the bottles into a special machine to analyze. My necklace set off the alarm, so I had to go back through. We almost lost Ron's small laptop TWICE. He says maybe we are getting too old to travel!! Never!
The flight to Munich was uneventful and on-time. More long walks at Munich Airport. We kept noticing that there were beer-gardens set up outside in the various concourses. We were too tired and rushed to take advantage. The rental car people gave us a larger car and AUTOMATIC, which is a great plus! It is a Renault Scenic - Diesel.
We took back roads to our hotel through beautiful, dense forests and pretty villages. We love our little hotel perched on a hill with vistas of the Wendelstein Mountain/Chiemgauer Alps.
Our room has a balcony overlooking the pastures, horses, and mountains. We enjoyed a typical Bavarian meal - schnitzel and schweinebraten, - in the gemutlich dining room.

We retired early, snug under the feather comforters with the balcony doors open. Unusual for Europe - doors and windows are equipped with screens. Lovely spot in the world.
